Canning jars, lids, and bands are the consumables that turn fresh food into shelf-stable pantry stock, and quality matters. Seal failures ruin jars; cheap lids warp; off-brand jars can crack under heat. Jars: mason jars in regular-mouth and wide-mouth, in 4 oz, 8 oz, pint, quart, and half-gallon. Regular-mouth jars work best for jams, jellies, and pickles; wide-mouth jars are easier to fill with whole vegetables, meats, and large tomatoes.

Lids: single-use flat lids are the standard and must be replaced each canning run. We also carry reusable Harvest Guard and Tattler lids for homesteaders who want to skip the annual lid hunt. Stock more lids than you think you need — they're the one item that runs out mid-season.
